Heat map panels can be added to any dashboard project, they offer unique and powerful insights and create an easy to visualize representation of complex data.

This article will cover how to add a heat map to an existing dashboard, how to edit your heat map(s) and how to remove an existing heat map panel from your dashboard.

Adding a Heat Map to your Dashboard

First, you will need to access the survey and associated dashboard you wish to add a heat map to, in your Survey Project folder located in the Projects tab in the left side bar menu, select the Dashboard you intend to edit.

When you have located and opened your Dashboard, select the Edit icon located in the upper right hand corner of the dashboard display.

Two options will appear, select Add Panel.

The Panel Library houses all available dashboard panel types, you can scroll through the examples, use the search bar or select the category from the listed Visualization Types.

Select Heatmap from the options available.

The Panel Library will load the panel options associated with the category selected, at this time one option for Heat Maps is available.

Select Add Panel.

The Panel Library will close and the Heat Map will auto load to the last panel in the dashboard, you can drag and drop the map anywhere you like.

Edit an Existing Heat Map

Navigate to the associated Heat Map you wish to edit; open your Survey Project folder located in the Projects tab in the left side bar menu, select the Dashboard housing the Heat Map.

Once located select the Panel Action button in the upper right hand corner of the Heat Map panel. Then choose Edit.

A menu will open with three subcategories, for the purpose of this article we will cover the General (1) and Options (2) subcategories.

To change the panel title or add a description to the panel display, select the General subcategory.

Under the Options subcategory you can make edits to the visuals and the assigned value counts of the axis of the Heat Map.

Be sure to select Save Panel after making any edits.

Removing an Existing Heat Map

Navigate to the associated Heat Map you wish to remove; open your Survey Project folder located in the Projects tab in the left side bar menu, select the Dashboard housing the Heat Map.

Once located select the Panel Action button in the upper right hand corner of the Heat Map panel. Then choose Remove.

It is important to note removing a panel cannot be undone, however any removed panels can be re-added to your dashboard.
