There are many ways you can design and edit your survey with our new survey experience.

Open a Survey Project and select the Design Tab, this will bring you to the survey designer.

The overall survey settings are located on the right sidebar. When you select a category name, it will open detailed setting features for editing; selecting the category name again to hide the setting.

Once edits have been made, select the Preview Tab to view your survey design.

To understand a specific setting category, click on the category you wish to review below:

General Survey Settings

General survey settings allows you to edit the title, description, and overall layout of your survey and contains the following:

  • Title: the name, location, or company details of your survey

  • Description: add any messaging to be displayed to the customer

  • Show the Title: can be hidden or made visible for your customers

  • Editable or Read-only: allows you to make edits or not to the survey

  • Width Mode: display the survey in Auto sized; adjusted to the view screen, static; remains static, or responsive; adjusts the width of the survey to match the width of the screen.

  • Layout: changes the appearance of the survey. The survey can be left-aligned, spread, centred, or right-aligned.

Logo in Survey Title

Add your logo to the survey title and make adjustments to the width and/or height in pixels (px).

Adjust the layout of the logo in the survey title section with the Logo fit settings:

  • None: automatically set to Loop default logo settings

  • Contain: logo aspect ratio is maintained but is resized to fit within the given dimension of the area

  • Cover: sets the size of the logo to the background image

  • Fill: enlarges the logo to fill the top and bottom

Navigation:

The navigation settings determines the flow of the survey, how customers interact with the survey. This impacts the completion of the survey and can be used to encourage completion in a timely fashion.

Select the Navigation settings you wish to view from the list below:

Edit Navigation Text:

Navigation buttons help guide the customer through the menu survey from start to completion. You can edit the text for the following navigation buttons:

  • Previous Page

  • Next Page

  • Completion of Survey

  • Edit Answer

  • Start Survey

Edit Navigation Position:

Edit the location of the navigation button to be displayed on the top or bottom of the screen, or both top and bottom. The navigation button can also be hidden.

Edit your survey to start the on either the previous page button, make the first page as a start page, or proceed to the next page automatically.

Edit Progress Bar

The progress bar on a survey is a visual navigation tool which shows the customer where they are in the survey. The progress bar can be hidden from view, displayed at the top, bottom, or both top and bottom of the screen.

The progress bar type changes the text in the survey to be either the following:

  • Completed Pages: shows how many pages are completed (Page 1 of 2)

  • Answered Questions: shows number of answered questions (Answered 0/7 questions)

  • Answered Required Questions: shows number of remaining questions that are required to complete the survey (Answered 0/1 questions)

  • Valid Answers: Shows status of valid answers provided (Answered 0/1 questions)

  • Completed Pages (button UI): Page 1 and Page 2 (status progress alongside)

Survey Structure

The survey structure displays all questions on a single page; original (default) layout, or each question on its own page.

Question Settings

Question Settings allow you to edit the layout of your general questions and includes:

  • Question Title Location: determines the layout of your questions can be set to display either on top, bottom, or left of survey answer input.

  • Question Description Location: This can be placed under the title or under the input.

  • Question Numbering: Question numbering can be set to be continuous on each page (continue from previous page), re-start on each page, or hide question numbers.

  • Question Title Pattern: How the question number is presented can show either of the following: 1. Question Title*, 1. *Question Title, *1. Question Title, 1. Question Title.

  • Required Symbols: the default symbol for question that have been set as required is * , this can be set as any symbol you like.

  • Start Index: set numbered or alphabetized question listings

  • Error Message Location: when a customer makes a mistake or experiences any network issues, the error message can be set to be displayed on the top or bottom of the screen.

  • Focus first question on a new page: sets first question to display on a separate page

  • Element Order on the Page: questions can be set to display in the order the survey was built (initial) or in a randomized order (random).

  • Maximum Answer Length: limits the characters in which a customer can answer

  • Auto-expand comment area if necessary: expands the comment area as the customer is typing.

Page Settings:

Edit the text of your page titles (ie: Page 1 or Page 2), show the page title and/or its numbers.

Logic Settings:

Conditional logic allows you to have a series of questions visible, editable, or required based on the customer answer or selection to one or many questions. You can tailor your survey based on the customer's input as they answer each question in the survey.

Data Settings:

You can clear invisible data to be hidden when the survey is complete, when the question is hidden, or when the panel/question is hidden.

Validation Settings:

Loop XM runs validation to ensure answers are valid and accurate. If there are any issues with the answer input from the Customer, Loop XM will provide an invalid notification.

You can set when the validation runs and when the user will be notified. This can happen during the following:

  • When switching to the next page

  • After an answer is changed

  • Before an answer is changed

  • When the survey is completed

Survey Complete Settings:

Survey Complete settings allows you to set a URL to redirect the customer once the survey is complete, edit the text for completing the survey, and add any page mark ups.
