Period over period dashboard reporting is a new feature that would allow users to generate a thorough comparison of results for further analysis and more sophisticated reporting.

We will start by either creating a new dashboard project or selecting an existing dashboard project (please visit the following page for steps on the creation of a custom dashboard project)

We then need to press the pencil icon located on the top right corner of the dashboard project (1). A set of two buttons will appear allowing us to either Add Panel or Create a Custom Panel (2). Next, we will click on the Add Panel button to see a new window with a wide selection of templates.

Period over period dashboard reporting is currently supported for Chart panel types, so we need to select a Chart as highlighted on the screenshot above.

We can select one of the pre-built panels which will render in our dashboard project.

Our next step is to click on ellipses (...) on the top right corner of the panel (1) and select the option Edit (2).

A new window will open with panel settings and a preview section. Our next step is to click on Options (1). The menu displayed will have a setting called Period-over-period with a checkbox to enable it (2). After turning on the previously greyed out Historical Period drop down will provide us with the following options: Same Period Last Year and Same Period Last Quarter (3).

Finally we have to click Savel Panel located at the bottom right corner of the window to save our configuration and display the final result.
