Response Feed CSV Export

A
Written by Arutyun Airapetyan

The Responses tab in each survey project displays every response submitted to that survey in a single feed. When you need to work with this data outside of Loop, for example to build a report, share results with a colleague, or analyze answers in a spreadsheet, you can export the feed to a CSV file in one click.

Before exporting, you can use the search bar to narrow the feed to the responses you are interested in. This article walks through opening the Response Feed, narrowing the results, and downloading the CSV file.

Opening the Response Feed

The Response Feed lives inside each survey project. To open it:

1. Click the Projects icon in the left-hand navigation menu. The Projects page displays your folders and any projects that are not stored in a folder.

2. If your survey is stored in a folder, click the folder to open it.

3. Click the survey project you want to export responses from.

4. The project opens on the Summary tab. Click the Responses tab to open the Response Feed.

The Response Feed lists all responses for the survey, with the newest responses at the top. Each row shows the submission date and time, followed by a column for each survey question.

Narrowing the Feed Before Exporting (Optional)

To focus on specific responses, click the Search responses field at the top right of the feed and type a keyword. The feed updates as you type, and there is no need to press Enter. In the example below, searching for "Food" narrows the list to the three responses that mention food.

When a search is active, a Sorted by Most relevant indicator appears to the left of the search field, and the closest matches are shown first. To clear the search, click the × icon inside the field.

You can also use the Filter icon at the top left of the feed to narrow responses further before exporting. For more on searching responses, see Response Search.

Exporting the Response Feed to CSV

1. Confirm the Response Feed shows the responses you want to export.

2. Click the Export icon (a document with a downward arrow), the last icon on the right side of the toolbar next to the search field.

3. The CSV file downloads through your browser and is saved to your default Downloads folder.

4. Open the file in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet application to review, sort, and analyze the responses.

Tip: Run a search before exporting when you only need a subset of responses, such as all comments that mention a specific topic. This keeps the exported file focused and easier to work with.
