Why leverage Topic Analysis?
Topic Analysis is a powerful tool that can be used to efficiently categorize high volumes of response data that would otherwise be labour-intensive to search through and explore. Through quickly identifying important topics that influence business operations, organizations can make better decisions and optimize processes. For example, if an organization is aware that food quality is an essential pillar of their business offering, they would likely want to isolate incoming feedback that is relevant to this topic. Topic Analysis tools such as Loop Auto-tagging offer a hands-off approach to performing such a task, thereby enabling organizations to analyze data at scale.
How to Configure Tags
Tags allow survey responses and conversations in Loop to be classified based on known topics that are important to your business. Once configured, tags can be added to survey responses and conversations to facilitate enhanced reporting capabilities. Tagging survey responses and conversations is a process that can either be performed manually or automatically based on AI-assisted keyword recognition leveraging Loop’s Auto-tagging feature.
To configure Tags, navigate to the Tags tab in the Settings area.
Clicking the “Add” button will allow you to create a new tag to be used throughout our account.
When adding or editing a tag, the following options will be available to configure:
Display Name: This name is how the tag will be represented throughout your account
Active: Toggling this switch off will deactivate the tag, thereby preventing it from being added to any new responses or conversations
Enable Tag Suggestion: Selecting this option will turn on Tag Suggestion for a given tag
Enable Auto-tagging: Selecting this option will turn on Auto-tagging for a given tag

From this dialogue, tags that have already been configured can be added to the conversation.
How to add Tags to Survey Responses
To add a tag to a survey responses, first navigate to the response of interest via the Responses page or the Responses tab of the survey project. Click on the response to view it individually. In this view, there will be a card dedicated to tags from which tags can be added or removed.
Clicking the “Plus” icon in this card will allow you to add any tag that has already been configured on the account.
How to Enable Auto-tagging
When creating or editing a tag, a checkbox will appear which allows the enablement of Auto-tagging for the specific tag. Enabling this feature will result in the automatic application of this tag to both conversations and responses on the basis of matched keywords that appear in incoming comments. Once enabled, a field will appear in which keywords can be added.
If any of the keywords in this field appear in the answer to a Comment question type that exists within a survey or a contacts message within a conversation, the tag will be automatically applied to the response or conversation. Currently keyword matches are case-insensitive. Additionally, if the keyword is the lemma of any words that exist within the comment or message, the tag will be applied. For example, if a tag were to be configured with the keyword “break” and a comment contained the word “broken”, the tag would be automatically applied, as “break” is the lemma of the word “broken”.
